I have a beautiful Nigel Foster Silhouette for sale. This is a Seaward Kayaks built model that is rock solid and in excellent condition. It has the typical wear and tear use from putting spare paddles on the deck, but is otherwise very sound. I have used this boat since 2008. It is a 2007 model purchased new from Gun Lake Paddle Sports. It is a fiberglass model red over white with black trim.
It has the stock seat taken out and replaced with a custom foam seat and backband. I did this for comfort and to be able to roll more effectively. I have had many compliments on my seat design including Nigel Foster himself, though if you want to take it out and replace it with the molded seat pan, I still have it and can put it in the boat.
The boat also has some custom deck rigging for spare paddle, and a brunton 70p compass fitted. Extra value!
This is a fast, sleek kayak that has the most hull speed of any british model sea kayak I have ever paddled. The round hull and hard chines make this a very fast boat that carves turns well and is very straight tracking in wind and waves. It has a drop skeg that was redesigned by Seaward and works much better than the previous models by Walden and the dutch built model.
If you are interested in Greenland Rolling, you should seriously consider this kayak. I am able to perform almost 30 of the 35 greenland competition rolls in this kayak, due to the low aft and foredeck. It has a very recessed rear cockpit coaming which makes it very easy to handroll.
I am selling this kayak for $2000.00. I would be happy to throw in a custom Immersion Research skirt that fits the boat that is tunnel size M.
I will ship the boat if the buyer pays crating costs and shipping costs. Though a terminal to terminal ship would have to be from a terminal in Grand Rapids. Otherwise local pickup only.
Specs: 17’10″ Long, 20.5″ wide, depth at cockpit coaming is 12″. It has two oval hatches fore and haft, (turkey platters) and a round day hatch fitted left. Boat weighs around 55. Though maybe less without the seat I removed.
