Surf Building on Lake Michigan-Watching the weather

first surf storm of spring

Job Prevents Kalamazoo Man from Kayak Surfing The surf is building on Lake Michigan. To quote Ben Stiller, I feel the need to grab some time in the green room! I have ordered a composite Mega Neutron. I am hoping it is delivered and available by the time fall rolls around. Until then I feel …

Updated Bad Paddle Surfing Etiquette Video

This may answer or unfortunately actually raise more questions! You decide! To me it looks like the boardie was having to duck for cover as the sea kayak was coming at him.

Bad Paddle Surfing Etiquette?

Have a look at this photo: I am by no means a surf safety nazi. But having been on the receiving end of bad vibes for no good reason while paddle surfing in both northern california and southern california, this sort of thing makes us look pretty careless. A 170 lbs paddler endoing an 18′ …

Video-Locals Only Surfer Comedy Skit with Ben Stiller

Comedy Skit with Ben Stiller of the Locals Only Surf Beach I’m not sure how old this skit is, or on which tv show it might have first appeared. Based on the fact that the Malone Brothers are in it, it seems likely it is recent. I’m pretty sure I met these guys on the …

However as I had some new gear on that seems to be working out, I thought I would point out a few losers from …

Tonight I have to leave it

Snotty frozen rain and forty mile an hour winds buffeted me on my morning commute to work. The full winter commuting regalia made it’s first appearance. I think I still need some neoprene booties for my bike shoes. But the fenders and the Bianchi San Jose seem to be holding tight. Except the bloody seat …

Bad Mojo-Broken Paddle

Some days you can’t get a break, and then you do… I seem to be on a run of bad luck that won’t quit. I’ve finally gotten all the right gear, the right craft, and enough skill to surf big fall storm waves. But now I just can’t seem to get some good luck. I …
