The world’s largest paddle surf competition is going to begin this Friday in Santa Cruz California. Waveski, IC, HP, and now Stand Up Paddle surfers will begin competing in heats along the cliff in legendary Steamer Lane.
This is the contest’s 24th year, competitors will soon be taking over the seaside and will be watching from the cliffs. Go Kayak Now! is hoping to have footage from a number of sources this year either shortly after, or god willing, during the contest. I will be reporting on the heats as soon as I get information.
As usual there is a mixed surf report of anywhere between 4-6 feet of swell at about 13 seconds.
One of these years I will make it out for the amateurs comp!
